Wifeys & Gentlemen,
It is weird to think that this time last year, I took a long hard look in the mirror and wondered if I’d ever get to celebrate a Mother’s Day as a mom.
Of course, in the literal sense, I knew I would.
In the midst of my first round of IVF treatment, I had faith that this might be the thing that would work for us. However, I also made a promise to myself that if giving birth wasn’t in the cards for me, I’d make a wonderful mother to an adopted child or two in the future; this thought was incredibly encouraging to me…and still is.
While that particular round of IVF didn’t go the way we’d planned, ending in very few viable eggs and a heartbreaking miscarriage, my dear husband and I resigned to giving it one more go. Being incredibly blessed with amazing health insurance that covered a great deal of our cost, we decided to do one more round of IVF egg retrieval and get the entire batch of eggs from rounds one and two tested for abnormalities.
After all of the ups and downs, the struggles, and the near misses, we ended up with 3 beautiful, healthy, high quality eggs. I could not be happier nor more in shock to announce that one of those eggs actually decided to stick around.
I am officially a little more than 1/2 way through my first pregnancy with an active, spirited little girl (seriously, she moves around A LOT). I think she kinda looks like me… ;-).

I know this isn’t always the best or easiest day for many of us. Whether you’ve lost a mother you loved dearly, have a strained or difficult relationship with your mother, or are desperately trying to become one yourself, I want you know that I see you. You are loved and cared for. I’m sending you the biggest virtual hug and lighting an extra candle for you and your comfort.
While I don’t want to spend too much of today getting into the details, I am really excited to share my story with you all (coming very soon). I hope that it educates and encourages other women (& men) who might be struggling to know what’s ahead and how to cope.
It’s been a crazy journey so far and I am so blessed to here and able to share it with my blog family!
Enjoy the day, no matter what your circumstances. & stay safe my loves.
Until next time,
Carry on Wifeys & Gents!
Love,
