Maternity Photoshoot 2020

Wifeys & Gentlemen,

Mr. B and I had the pleasure of doing maternity photos for our new baby coming in September 2020.

While I am aware that some people think maternity photos are cheesy, lame, or painfully over the top, I am all about choices! What works well for you or makes sense for you might not work for next person and that is OK.

I have definitely seen my share of cringeworthy maternity pictures (we ALL have), but even the super cringey ones meant something to the person who took them and it makes my heart smile…even if I have a personal chuckle at the outcome. 😉

The bottom line? If you have the means and opportunity to show up and show off your welcome baby bump, I say go for it!

We had a lot of fun doing our shoot! I felt radiant, beautiful, and connected to my little one and our family in a way that brought me so much joy.

We are SO BLESSED to have a friend like Sera H; she is one of the most talented photographers in the Bay Area and I highly highly recommend her if you need first class photos taken. I am proud to call her a best frennnn and I could not have asked for more.

Check out her instagram page here: @serahenning.photography

She had the perfect location to match the vision in my head (& also matched my outfit choice).

While I am not an outdoorsy kind of girl, the beach is the one and only outdoor place that makes me feel at peace. I could be on the beach all day, especially when it’s cold and rainy (I think I am meant to live in the Pacific Northwest at some point). When I meditate, I often seen myself in a tent on the beach, listening to waves crashing against the shore. I fall asleep at night listening to ocean and rain sounds on my sleep machine. It’s a vibe.

As I’ve mentioned, being pregnant has had its ups and downs, especially with this dumpster fire year we’ve been having. However, I know our little lady is strong and will be a part of something bigger than we can even imagine. I know she has a purpose in this world and I am so excited to see what kind of amazing human she becomes, what kind of mark (big or small) she’ll leave on this planet. She is my literal dream come true; a dream that, for a long time, I wasn’t sure was in the cards for us.

So this is our shoot: an ode to nature, motherhood, love, family, mindfulness and spirituality that has driven me and given me hope.

I hope you enjoy it (even if it’s just to have a good giggle at our expense).

Ps. There are 150+ photos so I just chose a few to give you guys an idea of what we got!

Special shout out to PinkBlush Maternity for the amazing dress (not sponsored, just really happy with my purchase).

And because he’s so awesome…here are a few shots that my husband took! He’s learning about photography and I think they came out really really beautifully.

Until next time,

Carry on wifeys & gents!
